Ballasted Roof (gravel)

The ballasted roof is an economical choice. In this system Sarnafil G or Sarnafil TG roofing membrane is loose laid. The gravel ballast secures the membrane against wind and meets fire-resistance requirements. The Sarnafil Ballasted Roof System offers these advantages:

  • Suitable for new construction and refurbishment
  • No special requirements for the roof deck (beyond structural capacity)
  • Installation is fast, efficient, and unrestricted by weather
  • Low cost
  • Secure against wind
  • Maintenance is easy and economical
  • Ballast protects the membrane against damage
  • Optimal fire-resistance characteristics
  • Can be divided into sectors (using water stops)
  • An extensive Green Roof System can be added later
